EcoRI News is dedicated to reporting on environmental and social justice issues in southern New England. Through our reporting, they create a more informed public and provide individuals with the information they need to be better stewards of their environment. They depend on the support of individuals, foundations and businesses that recognize the importance of local news delivered from an independent perspective.
Rhode Island Latino News
The Latino News Network (LNN) was founded in 2012 by veteran journalist, and former president of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ), Diane Alverio. Responding to the gap in news coverage of the Hispanic-Latino community, Alverio launched the LNN. In 2019, the LNN was acquired by nationally recognized journalist and media advocate, Hugo Balta. Under his leadership, Balta has expand the statewide coverage, Hispanic-Latino editorial focus to include independent news outlets in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and Illinois.

Solutions Journalism Network
The Solutions Journalism Network is leading a global shift in journalism, focused on what the news misses most often: how people are trying to solve problems and what we can learn from their successes or failures. Their mission is to transform journalism so that all people have access to news that helps them envision and build a more equitable and sustainable world.
Center for Cooperative Media
The mission of the Center for Cooperative Media is to grow and strengthen local journalism and support an informed society in New Jersey and beyond. The Center coordinates statewide and regional reporting, connecting more than 280 local news and information providers through its flagship project, the NJ News Commons. The Commons helps partners to share content and encourages them to collaborate and to support one another. The Center also conducts and publishes research on emerging ideas and best practices, focusing on local journalism, business models, and ecosystem mapping.
Gather
Gather's mission is to make journalism more responsive to the public’s needs and more inclusive of the public’s voices and diversity, by helping journalists, educators, and students who share these values find each other, find resources and best practices, and find support and mentorship.
Instituto de Periodismo Constructivo
The Institute of Constructive Journalism accompanies journalists, managers, and organizations to reflect on the purpose of their work, find ways to tell the world in a more balanced way, and develop projects with transformative potential in the communities they serve. They also investigate how to harness solutions journalism to strengthen audience engagement and generate revenue.
Providence Cultural Equity Initiative
The Providence Cultural Equity Initiative (PCEI) promotes, cultivates and advocates for the Cultural Sector and Economy of Rhode Island. The Mission of PCEI is “to steward and ambassador Rhode Island’s Cultural Sector & Economy.” They support and value uncompromising commitment to cultural authenticity, equity and sustainability by promoting and presenting products, services and opportunities to engage with Rhode Island’s cultural sector, economy, and communities.
